Black Wall Street Alabama (BWSA) is part of a nationwide and global movement focusing on empowering the black community through education and economic empowerment. We are a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, spiritually seeking sources for business development for our community.
Black Wall Street Alabama (B.W.S.A.) came into existence in the year 2017 when Brother Hillman Muhammad who was a part of another organization, was given the chance to head his own organization. Upon the start of building the new organization, Hillman took a hard look at Huntsville and noticed all the valuable resources and opportunities that were available but that blacks were notable to take advantage of. He saw that the lack of education and the understanding of the sizable gap of education missing in the Black community, was the biggest hurdle we as a people faced in using the resources of Huntsville to our advantage. In other words, we did not know, nor did we understand why or how this situation happened to the communities we lived in.
BWSA work deals in depth with creating educational and informational resources which help people build their knowledge on concepts such as financial education – which is the need for knowledge about our money and the future of it, alternative health & wellness solutions vs. traditional medicine, and access to accurate media in order to create, present, and live stream newsworthy information. With topics such as the need to invest in organic (natural) farming, the unfair justice system and lastly, personal development. BWSA through the movement “The Courage To Change Now” will shift the systematic traumas and generational toxicity which has hindered much needed resources and ability to function in a beneficial system which will create new rewarding and beneficial avenues for well-rounded communities.
